Meet Praneet
Born and raised in India, Praneet moved to the United States at sixteen. While earning his Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, he visited Vermont several times for hikes and climbs, and was drawn to its beauty, sense of freedom, responsibility, and unity. It is a place where, despite the physical distance between houses, people still know and care for each other. So as soon as he graduated, he chose to begin his career in the Green Mountain State.
Through his professional work, Praneet supported complex, multi-year, multi-million-dollar aviation and defense programs in private industry and contracting with the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army. That work, which took him across the country, required careful oversight, long-term planning, and accountability—where mistakes carried real consequences and follow-through mattered. Along the way, he earned a Master’s degree from the University of Vermont, became a certified flight instructor, started a small software business, and recently published his first book, experiences that reinforced the importance of clear thinking, discipline, and communication.
During the pandemic, Praneet and his family found themselves craving Vermont and its people. Having lived elsewhere for almost a decade, they realized that no other place offered the same sense of connection, trust, and community they felt here. The decision to return was easy, and they moved to Coventry to put down roots for the long term.
Since then, Praneet has been deeply involved in local civic life, serving on the planning commission, town finance committee, as well as chairing school and supervisory union boards. Through this work, he has helped navigate budgets, construction oversight, and policy decisions, always mindful of their impacts on his neighbors and community.
Praneet is running for the Vermont House because he believes public service means showing up, being accountable, and doing the work to ensure the community he calls home has a prosperous future.
